Delhi: The match is being played between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir in Ranji Trophy 2025. Mumbai team won the toss and decided to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma entered the field on behalf of the team for the opening. However, both the batsmen could not contribute much in this match.
Rohit scored only 3 runs in 19 balls, while Yashasvi returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs. Even though both the batsmen could not score much runs, they created history in Ranji Trophy.

The pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first active Indian Test opening pair to open for the same team in Ranji Trophy. This pair also opens in the Indian Test team, and now in the Ranji Trophy too, they opened the innings together for Mumbai.
Rohit playing Ranji match after 17 years
Rohit Sharma is playing Ranji Trophy match after 17 years. Earlier in 2008, the then captain of India Anil Kumble had played Ranji matches. Rohit played his last Ranji match in 2015, in which he played a brilliant inning of 113 runs against Uttar Pradesh.
