Delhi: In the year 2022, Virat Kohli had said that when he left the Test captaincy, only MS Dhoni contacted him. 43 -year -old Dhoni said in an interview to Jio Hotstar before IPL 2025, “I will talk about our relationship, but not about the message; I want to keep it the same. This can trust me and talk to me openly.”
He further said, “The players should believe that whoever he tells me will not know any third person. This trust is very important, especially for the players with whom I have never played or will not get a chance to play further. But if they needed me, whether it is about cricket or life, I will always be present for them.”

Dhoni praised Kohli’s hunger and dedication in cricket. He said, “From the beginning, Virat was a player who always wanted to contribute to the team. He was not happy by scoring 40 or 60 runs, but wanted to score an unbeaten century. His hunger took him forward. He also paid great attention to his fitness. That has been his biggest quality.”
