Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the start of IPL 2025. Rajasthan Royals have prepared a strong squad by buying players like Joffra Archer, Nitish Rana and Mahish Tikhsna in the mega auction. 23 year old young player Dhruv Jurel was seen performing brilliantly for the team in the last two years. Even in international cricket, he has impressed everyone with his wicket-keeping skills and batting.

Meanwhile, captain Sanju Samson has given a big statement. He said that, he is ready to give up the wicketkeeper’s position for Dhruv Jurel, which will not only give him additional responsibility but will also ensure his place in the Test team.

We both will share gloves- Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson while talking on AB de Villiers’ YouTube channel said,

“I have not said this on air. As I said earlier, we can feel for the players. I think Dhruv Jurel, at the position he is at, he is a Test wicketkeeper. He needs to wear gloves in the IPL at some point as well.”

“It was discussed, we both will share the gloves. I haven’t done much captaincy as a fielder, but I honestly said to him ‘Dhruv, I completely understand where you are coming from and what I think about you as a leader, you have to keep wickets in a few matches. Should do.’ We will see how to work on this. “Nothing should affect the team, the team comes first.”

Rajasthan Royals had retained Dhruv Jurel for Rs 14 crore before the mega auction. So far he has scored 347 runs in 27 IPL matches at a strike rate of 151.53.

Talking about the performance of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024, the last season was a mixed bag for the team. The team made it to the playoffs by finishing third in the points table with 17 points. But then in Qualifier-2, Sunrisers were eliminated after losing the match against Hyderabad.
