Difficulties increased for Pakistan
After the defeat in Cape Town Test, Pakistan had to face another difficulty. International Cricket Council fined Pakistan for slow over rate. Pakistan players were fined 25 percent of their match fees and five World Test Championship points were also deducted from the team.
ICC decision
ICC said that this penalty was imposed due to Pakistan bowling five overs less in the stipulated time. Match referee Richie Richardson determined the punishment. According to the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined five percent of their match fees for each over reduced. Pakistan captain Shan Masood accepted this punishment, due to which no formal hearing was held. Pakistan is currently ranked eighth in the WTC points table.
