Dwayne Bravo has been the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last two seasons.
Former West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo was selected by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the role of mentor on Friday 27 September. He will become the mentor of KKR in place of Gautam Gambhir, as Gambhir had parted ways with the franchise to become the head coach of Team India.
Bravo has been the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last two seasons. He has a deep connect with CSK and the team’s fans, having been a part of the team as a player from 2011 to 2022.
After parting ways with CSK and joining KKR ahead of IPL 2025, Bravo shared a special message for Chennai fans. Sharing a video on his Instagram account, he urged CSK supporters to support him in his new endeavour. He also thanked the CSK management as the team allowed him to join KKR.

“Vanakkam (Hello in Tamil), this is the champion. It is no secret now that I have accepted the deal to become the mentor of the Knight Riders franchise. At this time, I would like to especially thank the CSK management team for giving me the opportunity to grow by wishing me all the best and allowing me to do something I really love. I request all my fans in Chennai and CSK fans around the world to give me their blessings and support as always.”

It is noteworthy that Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from all formats of the game on Thursday, September 26, and a day later he was appointed as the new center of KKR. With 631 wickets in 546 innings, 40-year-old Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in T20.
