Former West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo was selected by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the role of mentor on Friday 27 September. He will become the mentor of KKR in place of Gautam Gambhir, as Gambhir had parted ways with the franchise to become the head coach of Team India.

Bravo has been the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last two seasons. He has a deep connect with CSK and the team’s fans, having been a part of the team as a player from 2011 to 2022.

After parting ways with CSK and joining KKR ahead of IPL 2025, Bravo shared a special message for Chennai fans. Sharing a video on his Instagram account, he urged CSK supporters to support him in his new endeavour. He also thanked the CSK management as the team allowed him to join KKR.

Bravo gave a special message to CSK fans

“Vanakkam (Hello in Tamil), this is the champion. It is no secret now that I have accepted the deal to become the mentor of the Knight Riders franchise. At this time, I would like to especially thank the CSK management team for giving me the opportunity to grow by wishing me all the best and allowing me to do something I really love. I request all my fans in Chennai and CSK fans around the world to give me their blessings and support as always.”

“I know this moment is sad for all of you, but I urge you to continue supporting me through everything. Lots of love, yellow (for CSK) will always be there. See you all soon, see you on the other side!”
