Delhi: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 (ICC Champions Trophy) has ended and now Indian players will participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) starting on March 22. After this, Team India will go on a tour of England in June, where there will be a Test series of five matches. However, England has suffered a major setback before this series, because his fast bowler Mark Wood will not be able to participate in Test cricket.
Wood has been suffering from knee injury for a long time. During the recent Champions Trophy, which was held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), his injury increased further. During the tournament, he was seen tending in pain several times.
It was already being speculated that after the Champions Trophy, he can stay away from cricket for a long time and now this apprehension has proved to be true. Wood will remain out of the field for the next four months, due to which he will not be able to play many important tournaments including IPL.
Long break after surgery
According to the ICC report, the recent scan has revealed a serious injury to his left knee ligament. For this reason, he had to undergo surgery and now he will be out of the cricket field for a long time. His absence can be a matter of great concern for England, especially in the Test series against India.
