Delhi: The troubles of England Test team captain Ben Stokes are not ending. Once again he has been injured and this time he will have to undergo surgery due to hamstring injury. Stokes suffered this injury during the New Zealand tour. He was struggling with the same problem in August also, and now he will have to stay away from cricket for three months for the treatment of this injury.

The schedule of the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle has been revealed, India will play series against these 6 teams

In the third match of the Test series against New Zealand, Stokes had a left hamstring problem, due to which he could not play in the second innings. England had to face defeat in this test. His old injury became more serious due to excessive bowling in that match. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that Stokes will undergo an operation at Durham Hospital in January. After this he will undergo rehab, which will take some time.

Out of ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Earlier, during “The Hundred” tournament in August, Stokes was troubled by a similar problem and was out of the team. Despite his brilliant performance in the Test series against New Zealand, he is no longer part of the team for the ODI and T20 series on India tour. Apart from this, he has also been ruled out of the Champions Trophy to be held in February-March.

Stokes is an important all-rounder of the English team. He has played an important role in helping England win many big victories, including the World Cup 2019. It will be interesting to see how the English team will perform in his absence.
