Delhi: England coach and father of aggressive batting style ‘Baseball’ Brendon McCullum has surprised everyone. He said that his team will play very cautiously in the upcoming limited overs series against India. McCullum, who has been the coach of the England Test team since May 2022, has brought many successes to the team during his coaching career. However, this will be the first time that he will take charge of England in the limited overs format.

McCullum told reporters, “I know this tour will be difficult because we are facing a strong team like India. But, I am confident that our team will play a cautious style of cricket.”

The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and England will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday. After this, there will be a series of three ODI matches, which is considered very important for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and UAE from February 19. McCullum said about this series, “This will be a great and exciting series. We are eagerly waiting for it.”

The schedule of the series is as follows

The first T20I will be played in Kolkata (17 January), the remaining four matches will be played in Chennai (25 January), Rajkot (28 January), Pune (31 January) and Mumbai (2 February). Whereas, ODI matches will be held in Nagpur (6 February), Cuttack (9 February) and Ahmedabad (12 February).

After this, England will leave for Pakistan, where they will face Australia in the first match of the Champions Trophy in Lahore on 22 February.
