Delhi: Former Pakistani captain Zaheer Abbas has given a big statement about Babar Azam’s bad form. He said that either Babur has a problem of important (ego) or he is so shy that he does not take advice from his seniors, while there are many former players who can help them.
Babur, who was once considered as Virat Kohli, has been facing tremendous criticism due to poor form for the last few months. He scored his last international century in the Asia Cup 2023.
Zaheer Abbas said, “I think there is ego inside Babur or he is so shy that he does not take advice from his senior players to overcome the current situation.”
Giving the example, he said, “Younus Khan spoke to Mohammad Azharuddin in 2016 and then scored a double century in England. I remember that Azharuddin had consulted me during India’s visit to India in 1989-90. He was not able to score runs and I advised him to change his batting grip. Saeed Anwar also consulted him.
Zaheer Abbas believes that Babur’s current batting stance has become more close than before. He said, “Earlier his stance used to open a bit, due to which he used to get time to adjust himself according to the speed of the ball. But now, he is not able to do shots time and is getting out soon.”
Babur’s form in Pakistan Super League (PSL) has not been good. He has scored only 1 and 0 runs in two matches played for his team Peshawar Zalmi.
