Delhi: Recently, the Indian cricket team faced two consecutive Test series defeats, which also included a crushing 0-3 defeat against New Zealand at home. After this, news of rift in the Indian dressing room started spreading rapidly. It was claimed in the news that during the Australia tour, there were differences between captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Gambhir accused Sarfaraz Khan

The most shocking news came when a channel reported that in the recently held BCCI review meeting in Mumbai, Gautam Gambhir accused Sarfaraz Khan of leaking information to the media during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Former Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh expressed his displeasure on this and appealed to Gambhir to talk to Sarfaraz and resolve the matter.

Harbhajan Singh’s statement

Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel, “Whatever has happened in recent times, whether it is in Australia or after that, there are wins and losses on the field. But, every day new things are coming out from the dressing room. Today the news is that coach sahib (Gautam Gambhir) said that Sarfaraz Khan leaked the dressing room talks to the media. If the coach has said this, he should not have done so. If Sarfaraz had done something like this in Australia, you could have explained it there. He is a young player and will play for India in the future. Being a senior player, it is our responsibility to show the right path to the young players. If Gambhir has said this and if Sarfaraz has really done this, then it is wrong. Dressing room matters should not come out.”

Displeasure over leaking news

The former bowler also expressed displeasure over the discussion of the BCCI review meeting being leaked to the media. This meeting was held in the presence of chief selector Ajit Agarkar, captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and other senior BCCI officials. He said, “Who is doing all this and why? You should not speak bad about your family members in public. “This tarnishes the image of the family.”
