Delhi: A major incident was avoided during the 36th match of the Big Bash League 2024-25. During the match played between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes, flames suddenly started rising in the historic Gabba Stadium, due to which the match had to be stopped. The game resumed after the fire was extinguished immediately. This incident exposed the great negligence of the BBL organizers.
No one was injured in the fire incident
No person was harmed in this incident, but a fear was definitely created among the spectators. The source of the fire was the DJ booth, from where music is played and announcements are made. As soon as the flames started rising from there, the fire was immediately controlled using fire extinguishers.

After the fire incident, the spectators were immediately evacuated from the stadium in view of safety. The game had to be stopped for some time, but the fire was not so big that any major accident would have happened. Still, there was an atmosphere of fear among the packed spectators in the stadium. The matter of relief was that the fire was quickly controlled and the match was restarted.

Hobart’s thrilling victory in the match
Talking about the match, the Hobart Hurricanes team performed brilliantly and won on the last ball. Batting first, Brisbane Heat scored 201 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Marnus Labuschagne played a brilliant inning of 77 runs for Brisbane. But Hobart counter-attacked and won the match by scoring 207 runs for 5 wickets with the help of Caleb Jewell’s excellent innings of 76 runs.
