First Shami’s claw, Shubman Gill’s century innings, Team India dusted Bangladesh by 6 wickets: Ind vs Ban, Match-2

Delhi: In the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being played at Dubai International Stadium, Bangladesh batted first and set a target of 229 runs in front of India. The Bangladesh team lost all the wickets by scoring 228 runs in 49.4 overs. In this match, Bangladesh batsman Tauheed Hridayoy scored a brilliant century, while Indian bowler Mohammad Shami took five wickets and took Bangladesh’s innings.

Bangladesh’s innings

For Bangladesh, Tauheed Hridayy played a brilliant innings of 100 runs off 118 balls, which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. He handled Bangladesh’s innings and brought the team to a respectable score. Apart from this, Zakir Ali also played an important innings of 68 runs. Other Bangladesh batsmen quickly returned to the pavilion, in which many batsmen including Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hussain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim and Tanjim Hasan Saqib were dismissed without much contribution.

Among the Indian bowlers, Mohammed Shami performed well and took 5 wickets for 53 runs in 10 overs. Apart from this, Harshit Rana also took 3 wickets, while Akshar Patel took 2 wickets. India’s bowling attack covered Bangladesh for 228 runs.

India’s batting

India got a target of 229 runs, and at the beginning of the match, Rohit Sharma was increasingly dismissed for 41 runs. After this, Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century. Gill scored 100 runs in 125 balls and brought his team to victory. This was his first century which he hit in the ICC event. Apart from Gill, Virat Kohli scored 22 runs and was dismissed, while Akshar Patel was also dismissed on low score.

KL Rahul scored a brilliant 41 and Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 101 runs. This match was interesting for India, as Gill’s century put India in a strong position. The Indian team achieved the target of 229 runs in just 46.3 overs.

Bangladesh bowling

Among the Bangladesh bowlers, Taskin Ahmed took one wicket for 36 runs in 4 overs, while Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket for 61 runs in 6 overs. Rishad Hussain took 2 wickets for 38 runs in 4 overs, while Mehdi Hasan Mirj gave 37 runs in 10 overs. Bangladesh bowlers tried their best to bring Indian batsmen under pressure, but due to Shubman Gill’s brilliant innings, India won this first match of the Champions Trophy.
