Delhi: The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been temporarily postponed for a week due to increasing border tension between India and Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a formal announcement of this decision on Friday. The board said that after reviewing the situation, information about possible places of the tournament will be shared.

In the midst of this, former England captain Michael Vaughan has suggested that the remaining matches of IPL can be held in the United Kingdom (UK). Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, he wrote, “I am wondering if it is possible to end the IPL in the UK. We have all the venue, and Indian players can stay there for the Test series. There is just one idea.”

Vaughan also mentioned that the Indian team’s five -match Test series against England is to start from June 20. In such a situation, if IPL is held in UK, then the players will not have to visit again and again.

The IPL was postponed on Thursday night when the ongoing match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala was canceled during the first innings itself. Due to security reasons, the audience was instructed to vacate the stadium and both teams were safely taken to their hotels.
