Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets in the last league match, keeping the hopes of winning their first title in IPL 2025. With this victory, RCB finished second in the points table and made it to the qualifier 1. Now on May 29, he will face table toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Sanjay Bangar suggested important changes

Former RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar advised some changes in the team for qualifier 1 during a conversation on Star Sports. He said that in view of the strong batting of Punjab Kings, Bangalore will have to strengthen his bowling.

Maintain Nuwan Tushara

Bangar especially recommended Nuwan Tushara to be maintained in the playing XI. He also suggested to include Josh Hazlewood and Tim David in the team. According to him, these two players will prove to be a better option than Liam Livingstone and Romariyo Shepherd.

He said, “Feed Tushara instead of Livingstone, this will make the bowling fantastic. Then include Phil Salt, Tushara, Hazlewood and Tim David in the team. Punjab’s team has scored more than 200 in this season six to seven times.”

Livingstone’s performance disappointing

Sanjay Bangar also said that Livingstone has not done anything special in this season, so it would be right to make them sit out. He emphasized that the team should strengthen their bowling so that the match against the aggressive team like Punjab could be equal.

Hazelwood and David return

The relief for RCB is that Josh Hazlewood and Tim David who could not play due to the previous match injury, are ready to return to Qualifier 1. Their return will increase both the balance and strength of the team.

End of season creating history

RCB also set a historical record this season. The team has moved ahead with the invincible ‘Ave’ record in the entire season for the first time in IPL history, winning all its seven matches.

RCB ended the league stage in second place with 19 points, which is his best performance since 2016. Although Punjab Kings also had the same number of points, but due to better net run rate, Punjab was first and RCB was second.
