Delhi: Former fielding coach of the Indian team, R. Sridhar will lead the 10 -day fielding camp in Sri Lanka, which was announced by the cricket board of the country on Tuesday, ie 6 May through a press release.

This program has been started with the aim of raising the fielding level of Sri Lankan cricketers and will start from 7 May. Along with men and women’s national teams, Emerging Squads, Premier Club Players, National Under-19 team and women ‘A’ team will participate in this camp.

The press release said, “Former Indian fielding coaches will start the event with Sri Lanka’s national men’s team and later work with other squads. During this time they will conduct practice sessions under situations like fielding drills, skill based training and match.”

R Sridhar has worked as a fielding coach of India from 2014 to 2021 and during this time he served in more than 300 international matches with India. Recently, he has also worked as an assistant coach of Afghanistan’s national team in 2024.

R. Sridhar is a BCCI Level 3 certified coach and has previously worked with India’s Under-19 team in both fielding coaches and assistant coaches. Apart from this, he has also been associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) as a fielding coach.
