Delhi: The thrill of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is at its peak, and there has been tremendous competition in the 12 matches played so far. Currently, the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) topped the points table, which has won both their matches. Delhi Capitals (DC) has also been undefeated so far. Meanwhile, former Team India explosive batsman and former Delhi Capitals captain Virender Sehwag has taunted and made fun of RCB’s current situation.
In a video viral viral on social media, Sehwag quipped RCB as ‘poor’. He jokingly said that such teams should also get a chance to top the points table for some time, because they have never enjoyed winning the IPL Trophy. During the conversation with Cricbuzz, Sehwag said, “Let the poor also stay, let the photo take a while. Don’t know how long the poor people will stay up.”
When the anchor sought clarification on the word ‘poor’, Sehwag clarified that he was talking about the teams, not of money, which have not yet won a single IPL title. He said, “What did you think, I was talking about money? No. All franchises are financially rich and earns Rs 400-500 crore in every season. But those who do not win a single trophy, I am calling them ‘poor’.”
It is worth noting that only Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants have not been able to win the trophy. Of these, LSG has become part of the league since 2022.
