Delhi: Former Sri Lankan captain and father of the scoop shot Tillakaratne Dilshan said that in his cricket career he always played aggressively and did not feel afraid of any bowler. However, the bowling of Indian bowlers Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra troubled him many times. He praised young Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and said that he will go far in the future.

Dilscoop Sports Academy started
Dilshan told that this academy is being started in four cities including Meerut and Noida. In this academy set up for training in other sports including cricket, veteran players from countries like Sri Lanka and Australia will share their experiences. In future it will also be started in Sri Lanka, Dubai and Australia.
History of Scoop Shot
Dilshan said that he invented the scoop shot in the second season of IPL held in South Africa in 2009. He played this shot against Australian all-rounder Moses Henriques. Later, he practiced this shot with a tennis ball for three months, after which it was used extensively in the World Cup 2009. Since then this shot became famous by the name of ‘Dilscoop’.
Ravichandran Ashwin was called a great bowler
On Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement, Dilshan said that a player never wants to leave cricket, when he himself retired, he was the number-1 all-rounder, but he took this step to give a chance to the youth. He counted Ashwin among the great bowlers of the world and said that he decided to retire at the right time.

On the question of retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Dilshan said that no player can be called weak because of poor performance in a series. Both the players are counted among the great batsmen of India and they have made a big contribution in the World Cup victory. Virat Kohli still has many years of cricket left.

Dilshan told that he himself used to play with bats made in Meerut. He said that Meerut bats are world class and even today many international players use them.
