Delhi: Ashish Nehra, the head coach of Gujarat Titans (GT), has described Ravindra Jadeja as the best fielder of modern cricket. He praised the extraordinary fielding capabilities in every corner of Jadeja’s ground and said that he has been performing brilliantly since his debut (2008-09).
In a conversation with Star Sports, Nehra said, “I have seen very big fielders. Some are good in outfields, some inside the circle. Jonty Rhodes was the best inside the circle. If we talk about all-round fielding, AB de Villiers comes to name, Andrew Ceramands also, but I will keep the top of Jadeja. Now there is no difference in what they are. Do not know what they eat, if they eat something different, then tell us. ”
Former Indian off -spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also spoke on Jadeja’s low -judged talent in his YouTube show ‘Ash Ki Baat’. Ashwin said, “Our media then pays attention, when a player fails, but when someone does good, he is not appreciated. Jadeja is always under the radar. He is ‘Jackpot Jango’. He contributes to +10 in the field, as well as bowling and batting in difficult circumstances.
Significantly, Ashwin is India’s second highest wicket -taking bowler after Anil Kumble (953) with 765 wickets.
