Gautam Gambhir reveals his true feelings about Rishabh Pant:

Delhi: Indian cricket team wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant is in the news these days. On the tour of England, he showed what has been difficult for many veterans. He won the hearts of cricket fans from all over the world by playing 134 runs in the first innings and 118 runs in the second innings. Instead of praising Pant, he stopped the reporter in the middle and said that three more Indian batsmen have scored centuries in this match, and they are equally commendable. Gambhir did not praise Pant separately.

Gambhir further said that if the question was such that Yashasvi, Shubman, KL Rahul and Pant – all of them scored five centuries, it would have been better. According to him, this is a great start for the team and all the players should be praised, not just one.

Ajay Jadeja narrated the story related to Pant

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja also shared an old anecdote related to Pant on this occasion. He told that when he was the coach of the Delhi Ranji team for some time, the team was being selected. At that time both the captain and the selector did not agree among themselves and the players whom they wanted to choose were not even familiar with each other. For this reason, Rishabh Pant could not be selected in the team.

Pant’s confidence reply

Jadeja further told that he told Pant that even though the selection has not been done yet, you come for practice. To this, Pant smiled and replied, “Brother, let it be. When he needs me, he will call me from home.” This answer shows his confidence and trust in the future.
