Delhi: Indian cricket team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir will return to India from Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to family reasons. However, he is planning to return to Australia before the second Test match. The second test match will start from December 6 in Adelaide, which will be a day-night match.

Gambhir played a key role in India’s historic 295-run win at the Optus Stadium in Perth. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Gambhir along with Jasprit Bumrah led the team to a spectacular victory. According to India Today report, he is returning home due to serious family reasons. If everything goes well, he will join the team before the second test.
India’s great victory in the first test
In the first Test, India had given a target of 534 runs to Australia, in response to which the host team collapsed for 238 runs. India had scored 150 runs in the first innings, while Australia’s team was limited to only 104 runs. In the second innings, India declared the innings after scoring 487 runs for 6 wickets. With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
In Gambhir’s absence, Team India will go to Canberra on Wednesday, where it will take part in a two-day pink ball practice match starting on Saturday. At present, the team is busy preparing for the second Test in Adelaide.
