Delhi: After the 184-run defeat to Australia in the Boxing Day Test, there was speculation about differences in the dressing room of the Indian team. However, Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir and his childhood coach Sanjay Bhardwaj have dismissed these rumours.
Speaking to IANS, Gambhir said, “These are just reports, not the truth, as long as there are honest people in the dressing room, Indian cricket will be safe. “Performance is what keeps you in the dressing room.”
Gambhir’s childhood coach Sanjay Bhardwaj also gave his reaction on this. He said, “When a team loses, such news is common. Gambhir knows how to get the best performance from the team. I don’t think there is any rift in the team, as far as Rohit is concerned, he is not satisfied with his form.”
In the press conference held before the fifth and final Test of the series, Gambhir said that the playing eleven will be decided only after seeing the pitch. When he was asked about the absence of captain Rohit Sharma, he said, “All is well with Rohit.” Something is fine. The decision will be taken according to the needs of the team.”
Gambhir also said that honesty and performance are most important for the Indian team. The last test of the series will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Friday. At present, Australia is leading 2-1 in the series.
