Delhi: Amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has made a statement about whether the cricket relations between the two countries should continue or not. In a recent interview, Gambhir said that although the final decision will be made by the government, he has a personal opinion that there is nothing more than the life of Indian citizens.

Gambhir told ABP News, “My personal answer is, not at all, until all this (terrorism) is not closed, there should be no relation between India and Pakistan.”

The Indian coach further said, “After all it is the government’s decision whether we should play against Pakistan or not. I have said earlier that a cricket match, Bollywood or any other conversation is not more than the lives of Indian soldiers and citizens. Matches will continue, movies will continue to be made, singers will continue to sing, but the pain of losing a family member is much more.”

On the question of playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and the upcoming T20 World Cup, Gambhir said, “It is not in my jurisdiction, it is the decision of the BCCI and more government whether we should play against Pakistan or not, whatever decision they take, we should accept it completely and not politicize it.”
