Decision on Rohit Sharma’s retirement may come soon, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar reached Melbourne
Sunil Gavaskar praised this century of Nitish and called it one of the greatest centuries of Indian cricket. Gavaskar said, “This century of Nitish is one of the greatest centuries in the history of Indian cricket.”
Meanwhile, Sunil also criticized Rishabh Pant. Pant played a risky shot at fine leg off Scott Boland and was caught by Nathan Lyon. Calling it a ‘stupid shot’, Gavaskar said, “It was absolutely stupid to play this shot even though two fielders were standing. It was a huge mistake to lose your wicket by playing this shot after missing on the first shot.”
Gavaskar clearly said, “In such a situation the team needed partnership. It was not your natural play, but a stupid shot. This has disappointed the team. Pant should not go back to the dressing room, he should go to another dressing room.”
