Delhi: A total of 15 wickets fell on the second day of the fifth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played between India and Australia in Sydney, on which former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar took on the former players of Australia and England. He said that questions are always raised on Indian pitches and the conditions there, but India never complains.

On the second day, Australia started with 1 run for 9 wickets, but the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and bowled out Australia for 181 runs in the first innings. India achieved a slight lead of 4 runs. However, the Indian batsmen also faltered in the second innings. Apart from Rishabh Pant, no batsman could play a big innings. By the end of the day’s play, India had scored 141 runs for 6 wickets and had taken a lead of 145 runs.

Sunil Gavaskar gave a sharp reaction during the commentary on the fall of 15 wickets in a day. He said, “Former cricketers of Australia and England always criticize Indian pitches and their conditions. But, if 15 wickets had fallen in a day in India, there would have been an uproar.”

Gavaskar was referring to those former players who criticize the early end of Test matches on pitches that favor spinners in India. He also said that India never complains about the pitch or conditions.
