Gill’s captaincy innings
Shubman Gill played an outstanding innings of 127 not out in his first match as a Test captain. He batted with confidence and maturity. After getting down at number 4, he took responsibility and made a brilliant return under pressure.
Jaiswal’s fast century
Yashasvi Jaiswal also batted brilliantly and completed the century with the help of 16 fours and a six in 144 balls. Before tea, his century proved to be helpful in giving a strong start to the team.

Former England captain Nasir Hussain praised Gill’s batting and said that Gill has shown a lot of maturity since the captaincy of Gujarat Titans in the IPL. He said that Gill has learned to balance white ball from the background of cricket.
