Delhi: Prithvi Shaw’s career is constantly in controversies. The Mumbai team did not include him in their team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which shows his falling form and discipline related problems. Things are now becoming difficult for this batsman, who was once considered the future of Indian cricket.

‘Shaw became his own enemy’
Prithvi Shaw expressed his disappointment in an Instagram post while mentioning his excellent performance in the 50 over format. But despite this, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) considered it better to give a chance to someone else considering his lack of fitness and discipline.
An MCA official said on condition of anonymity, “No one is against Prithvi Shaw. But, he has become his own worst enemy. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, it seemed as if we were playing with 10 fielders. The ball would pass through Shaw and he would not even try to stop it. “His level of fitness and fielding is not meeting the standards of the team.”
‘Fitness, discipline and attitude are now big problems’
Talking about batting, he said, “In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored only 197 runs in 7 matches. Better performance is expected from an opener. His fitness, discipline and attitude have now become a big problem. There cannot be different rules for different players for the team.”
The official also told that Shaw used to miss the team’s training sessions many times during the tournament. “He would stay out all night and return to the hotel at 6 in the morning. Even senior players are now upset with his attitude. “Posts made on social media have no impact on the selectors or the MCA.”
