Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the hybrid model for organizing the Champions Trophy to be held next year. Now ICC has sent a team to Pakistan to inspect the preparations and security arrangements for the tournament. Similarly, New Zealand Cricket has also sent its squad to Pakistan to take stock of the security and other arrangements before the triangular series to be held in January.

The triangular series will include teams from host Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa. The New Zealand cricket team includes security expert Reg Dickason and Kiwi Players Association representative Brad Roden, who will review the security arrangements and preparations in Karachi and Lahore.

ICC and New Zealand team reached Pakistan

While inspecting the preparations for the Champions Trophy, the ICC team visited the National Stadium in Karachi and then took stock of the stadiums in Lahore and Rawalpindi. At the same time, PCB said that this tour is part of the normal process before big tournaments. PCB said that it is spending Rs 12 billion on the renovation and repair of the stadiums, so that all the stadiums can be ready before the Champions Trophy.

India and Pakistan matches at neutral venues

ICC informed on Thursday that all the matches between India and Pakistan will be played at neutral venues. This rule will be applicable between the two teams from 2024 to 2027. From this it is clear that the Champions Trophy will be organized on hybrid model only.
