Team announced for Champions Trophy
All eyes will be on the team selection for the Champions Trophy. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar can announce India’s 15-member preliminary team by January 12. ICC has directed all the teams to submit their preliminary squad by January 12. However, teams will be allowed to make changes till February 13.
According to the ICC official, “All teams will have to submit their preliminary squads by January 12, but changes can be made till February 13. It depends on the teams whether they announce the team or not. ICC will release the official list of all the teams on 13th February itself.”
Will Bumrah be the vice-captain?
According to a Times of India report, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was battling fitness challenges in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, could be made the vice-captain of Rohit Sharma. With this, players like Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul can be ignored. Both of them took this responsibility during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
