Delhi: Siraj has not been made a part of Team India for Champions Trophy 2025. In his place, the team has given a chance to Arshdeep Singh in the Champions Trophy squad. Earlier, Team India had announced for the T20 series against England and Siraj’s name was missing in it too.
Arshdeep Singh got a chance
Let us tell you that in the Champions Trophy squad of Team India, Arshdeep Singh has been kept as the third fast bowler in place of Mohammad Siraj. However, it is worth noting that Arshdeep mainly plays T20 cricket for Team India. So far, he has played only 8 ODI matches in his career, in which he has taken 12 wickets. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how right this decision of the team proves to be for them. Arshdeep has played 2 T20 World Cups for Team India.
Team India finally understanding the importance of Left Arm Pacer!
The only reason Arshdeep Singh is selected ahead of Siraj is that he is left arm pacer!!!
Good decision – but harsh on Siraj!!!#ChampionsTrophy #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/Mx0ltAGve3

need a new ball bowler
Rohit Sharma clarified on this and said, “If Bumrah does not play, then in his absence we need a bowler who can bowl effectively both at the beginning and end of the innings. Shami is back, and Siraj’s impact diminishes a bit without the new ball. Apart from this, we are going with only three fast bowlers this time, because we want to give a chance to more all-rounders.”
Rohit Sharma said, “we’re not sure of Jasprit Bumrah at this stage, so we wanted someone who can take up that role, we picked Arshdeep Singh”. pic.twitter.com/u5PpLKIlmE
