Delhi: The shortlist of players’ names has started being released for the ICC Awards 2024. Recently ICC had announced the names of players for Emerging Cricketer of the Year, and now the list of players nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year has also been revealed. Four players have been shortlisted for this award, which includes one player each from India, Pakistan, Australia and Zimbabwe.

Even in the final of T20 World Cup 2024, Arshdeep along with Bumrah played an important role in turning the match, especially helping India defend the target by giving only 4 runs in the 19th over.

Babar Azam’s name also included

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has also been nominated for this award. This year he scored the most runs in T20 cricket. The right-handed batsman scored 738 runs in 24 matches at an average of 33.54, which included six half-centuries and almost 100 fours. Babar Azam is very close to breaking the record of scoring most runs in T20 International cricket, he needs only 8 runs for this. Currently Rohit Sharma is leading with 4231 runs, but he has retired from T20I.

Sikandar Raza and Travis Head also in the race

Apart from this, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and Travis Head of Australia are also in the race for this award. Sikandar Raza scored 573 runs in 24 T20 matches in 2024 and also performed brilliantly in bowling. A total of 24 wickets have been registered in his name this year, which also includes the feat of taking 5 wickets in a match.

At the same time, Travis Head scored 539 runs in 15 T20 matches at an average of 38.5, and his strike rate was 178.47. He was the third highest run scorer in the T20 World Cup 2024.
