Delhi: Pakistan is to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but the controversy regarding the tournament is not stopping. The Indian cricket team has already refused to tour Pakistan, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not in favor of organizing the tournament on the hybrid model. For this reason the schedule of the tournament has not been announced yet.

‘Why are you not coming to Pakistan?’, Suryakumar Yadav gave a befitting reply to fan’s question

According to ANI report, ICC officials are in talks with the PCB. Their objective is to convince Pakistan to adopt the hybrid model. ICC believes that it is not possible to organize the tournament without the Indian team and the hybrid model is the best solution to this problem.

The ICC has also urged the PCB to avoid public statements against India. Earlier, the ICC had informed the PCB in writing that the Indian team would not tour Pakistan. Team India’s matches are likely to be played in UAE under the hybrid model.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) says that India should come to Pakistan, because their team had toured India for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Earlier, the Asia Cup 2023 was also held on a hybrid model, where India played its matches in Sri Lanka.

Schedule will be announced soon

According to reports, discussions are going on between host Pakistan and other teams regarding the schedule of the Champions Trophy. ICC may release the schedule in the next few days. Usually the schedule is announced 100 days before the tournament, but due to India’s refusal it is getting delayed.
