Delhi: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has given strict advice to Babar Azam to save his ODI and T20 career. Akhtar has said that Babar will have to score three match-winning centuries in the upcoming Champions Trophy, otherwise it may be difficult for him to retain his place in the team.

Babar was dropped from the Test team after stepping down from the captaincy. After this, he played T20 and ODI series against Australia, but his performance was very poor. He scored only 47 runs in three T20 matches, while his score in three ODIs was limited to 80 runs.
Shoaib Akhtar said on PTV Sports, “Babar is our star player and he has my full support, but with the new management and thinking he will have to prove his ability. If this does not happen then his selection in the ODI and T20 team will become difficult.”
Emphasizing on the Champions Trophy, he said, “Babar will have to perform well in the tournament. They need to change their mindset and approach. By scoring three big centuries he will have to show that he is important for the team. Otherwise their career path will become more difficult.”
Babar Azam is trying to regain his form
It is noteworthy that Babar Azam is currently trying to regain his lost form, but Shoaib Akhtar believes that if he does not return to his form soon, he may be asked to play domestic cricket.
