Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has threatened to shift its home ground in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In fact, tension has increased between SRH franchise and Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) regarding ticket sales. The manager of the team wrote a letter to HCA treasurer CJ Srinivas and clarified that SRH would not tolerate the intervention of the association under any circumstances. In this letter, especially HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao has been targeted.
According to the Times of India report, SRH has alleged that the inappropriate behavior of HCA officials has been going on since 2024. Recently, during the SRH vs LSG match held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 27 March, HCA officials captured the VIP box, which angered the franchise.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has entered into an agreement with several stakeholders, under which the team has to provide 3,900 tickets to the beneficiaries. Out of this, 50 VIP box tickets have been allocated to Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). However, HCA demanded an additional 20 tickets, which were in the second VIP box, when the demand was rejected, it was alleged that the VIP box was captured during the match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Complaint and ground shifting warning from BCCI
According to SRH manager, HCA president has threatened the team staff several times. He claimed that this is not the first time when pressure is being made on free tickets. The franchise has made it clear that if HCA’s attitude does not change, it will consider changing its home ground and the matter will be complained to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Now the thing to see will be whether SRH changes its home ground or not. If this happens, then the performance of the team can also have a big impact.
