India declared its innings in its second innings after scoring 487 runs for 6 wickets. Earlier, Team India had scored 150 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia was all out for 104 runs in the first innings, giving India a lead of 46 runs. In the second innings, India’s lead reached 533 runs and Australia was given a target of 534 runs.

Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century
Fans were eagerly waiting for Virat Kohli’s century, as soon as he completed his century, the Indian team declared the innings. Virat played an unbeaten inning of 100* runs in 143 balls, which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. This was Virat’s 30th century in Test cricket and 81st overall in all three formats. With this, he left Sachin Tendulkar (6 centuries) behind with his 7th Test century on Australian soil. Along with Virat, Nitish Reddy also performed brilliantly and scored 38 runs in 27 balls. Both made an unbeaten partnership of 77* runs in 54 balls for the seventh wicket.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the fourth century of his Test career by playing a strong inning of 161 runs. He hit 15 fours and 3 sixes. At the same time, KL Rahul scored 77 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal contributed 25 runs and Washington Sundar contributed 29 runs. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel returned to the pavilion after scoring 1-1 runs.
