Delhi: Indian team bowling coach Morne Morkel praised the players for excellent bowling against New Zealand in the last group match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He praised the tight line-length of the bowlers, especially, due to which the New Zealand batsmen came under pressure and could not score much runs.
Morkel also appreciated the performance of spinner Varun Chakraborty, who took five wickets in his Champions Trophy debut match.
In the video released by the BCCI, Morkel said, “You know how to play on this pitch, what is our bowling blue-print. The way you took wickets, tied the batsmen and put a dot ball in the middle overs, it was fantastic. ”
He further said, “Varun, you got a chance and you performed well. As a bowling unit, we are in good condition. The next match will be exciting. We have worked hard and the team is moving in the right direction. “
Happy with the militant innings of the middle order
Morne Morkel also praised the middle order of the Indian team. He said, “In tournament cricket it is necessary that the team should face different situations and go through challenges before the semi-finals. For me, today’s match is a big positive sign. I liked that the middle order showed a fight and made a partnership. “
Now India will take on Australia in the semi -finals. It will be interesting to see whether Varun Chakraborty is maintained in the team for this match, as a new pitch will be prepared for the semi -finals.
