Delhi: India’s star opener Shubman Gill set a new record in ODI cricket on Wednesday, February 12. He has become the fastest batsman to complete the fastest 2500 runs in ODIs. Gill achieved this achievement during the match being played against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He broke the record of veteran South African batsman Hashim Amla, who achieved this position in 53 innings. The young batsman completed 2500 runs in only 50 innings.
Gill needed only 25 runs in the match against England for this record, which he completed by hitting the fifth ball of the 10th over. This ball was scored by English bowler Gas Atkinson.
