IND Vs Eng: Stokes and Gill united before the Oval Test, both strongly criticized the same issue

Delhi: The five -match Test series between India and England is now at its last stop. In this series, both teams are constantly fighting hard. In such a situation, England captain Ben Stokes and India captain Shubman Gill have got the notes. Both captains have expressed concern about the low break between Test matches.

Both Stokes and Gill believe that the workload on bowlers is very high in the series of five Test matches. In such a situation, the difference of just three days is not enough for the players for recovery. Especially when almost every match lasts for five days.

Three days break not enough: Stokes

Before the fifth Test, Ben Stokes said that there was a gap of eight-nine days between some matches in this series and only three days between some. He said that it would have been better if there was a break of about five days between every match. This would also keep continuity and the players would also get relief.

Stokes said that the bowlers have to put a lot of overs in every match. Sometimes getting a long break and sometimes very short. This has been difficult for everyone.

Gill also agreed

Indian captain Shubman Gill also supported Stokes. He said that all Test matches in this series lasted for five days. Moreover, most of the matches went to the last session. This gave the players very little time to recruit.

Gill said, “I don’t remember that there were any other series in which the first four Tests were played till the last session of the last day. It has been very tired. When the game is so intense, the three -day break is really less.”

He also admitted that if a five-six-day break is kept between every match, then the tour will be very long. Perhaps this is why both the boards must have decided a small difference. But keeping in mind the health of the players, it should be considered in the future.
