WTC final in England twice the last twice
So far, the final of the World Test Championship has been held in England twice. The first final was played in Southampton in 2021, in which India lost to New Zealand. The second final was held in 2023 at The Oval ground, where India lost to Australia. The third final will also be played at the prestigious Lord’s Stadium in England from 11 June 2025, with South Africa and Australia face to face.
England board concerned about ticket sales
The England Cricket Board (ECB) has expressed its concern after India’s desire to host 2027 finals. He says that the England team was not included in both the finals in England so far, yet the stadium was completely filled with the audience and the tickets were completely sold. The ECB is afraid that if the finals in India and Team India did not reach it, will the sales of tickets be done there too?
Concern will increase further when Pakistan reaches the finals
Another concern of ECB is that if Pakistan’s team reaches the final of 2027 and that match is in India, will the match be held there in a safe and normal way? This question is also important because due to political tension between India and Pakistan, there is no bilateral series between the two countries.
India’s next WTC journey will start with England tour
India is going to start the next WTC cycle with a tour of England, where a five -Test series will be played between the two countries. The series will start from next month and it will be the first stop for India’s 2027 final.
