Delhi: The knockout matches of the Champions Trophy 2025 are now going to start and the thrill for cricket fans is going to grow further. The semi -finals will start from 4 February, and the first semi -finals will be played between India and Australia at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. However, the biggest question is that if the match is canceled due to rain, then which team will get a place in the final and what rules the ICC has fixed for it.

What if the semi -finals are canceled?

Australia’s matches were canceled due to rain in the previous versions of the Champions Trophy. This time too, a match of Australia could not be done due to rain. In such a situation, there is a fear in the minds of the fans that what will happen if the semi -finals of India and Australia are canceled due to rain.

This time the ICC has made a provision of Reserve Day for knockout matches. If the India-Australia match is not completed on March 4, it will be released on 5 March on Reserve Day. According to the Duckworth Lewis rule, the team batting later will have to play at least 25 overs. If the match is not complete even on Reserve Day, then the team that stayed on the group stage will go to the final. India will benefit in this matter, as it was in the first place in the group stage.

Reserve Day also for second semi -finals

The second semi -final of the Champions Trophy 2025 will be between South Africa and New Zealand, which will be played on 6 March at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. If this match does not result in the result, then South Africa, who was at the top in Group B, will reach the final.
