Team India has complained to the ICC about the condition of Dux ball during the Lord’s Test. The Indian team alleges that the replacement ball was excessively old, causing them to damage. The BCCI has demanded transparency in the rule and expected action from the ICC.
Delhi: During the ongoing Test series between India and England, a new controversy has now come up. This dispute is about the Dux ball, which is being used in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. According to reports, the Indian team has filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in this matter.
India expressed resentment on Dux ball
During the Lord’s Test, the Indian team had objected to the ball several times on the third day. The ball was changed twice in the match, but Team India was not satisfied with the second new ball. It is alleged that the second replacement ball was losing its shape in just 10 overs and that ball was actually 30-35 over old.
According to ‘Indian Express’ report, Team India says that the replacement ball should be of the same over as old ball. However, the umpires said that he did not have a 10 -over ball in stock. Therefore, Team India was given a ball which was very old.
A BCCI official said that this is happening repeatedly in the series. Dux ball quickly loses its shape and the umpires do not have the right choice. He also said that if he had known that the replacement ball is 30 over old, he might continue to play with a bad ball.
Team India has now demanded from the ICC that the rules related to the replacement ball should be made transparent and clear information should be given in such cases. He believes that this may make a difference to the results of the match.
Meanwhile, the last Test match of the series will be played at the Oval from Thursday. India is currently 2–1 behind. If Team India wins this match, the series will be equal to 2-2.
