Delhi: The Women’s TRAI Nation Series 2025 began at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo, which is being played between Sri Lanka, India and South Africa. In the first match of the series, India registered a stunning victory over hosts Sri Lanka. In this rain -affected match, the Indian women’s team defeated Sri Lanka by 9 wickets. The match was reduced to 39 overs due to rain.
Shed affection and phase in bowling
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first and the entire team was reduced to 147 runs in 38.1 overs. Sneh Rana for India and Nallapuri Charani, who is making debut, harassed the Sri Lankan batsmen while bowling brilliantly. Sneh Rana took three wickets. While Charani also took two wickets for only 26 runs in his eight overs. Apart from this, Kashvi Gautam also bowled economically and conceded only 22 runs in his seven overs.

Great batting of Smriti-Patika
The Indian team started chasing a target of 148 runs. Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal added 54 runs for the first wicket. Smriti Mandhana scored 43 runs in 46 balls, but she was dismissed by Inoca Rana Veera. After this, Harleen Deol, along with the copy, won the team. Harleen Deol scored an unbeaten 48, while Pratika Rawal scored a brilliant 50 not out in 62 balls and won his team in 29.4 overs.
Pratika Rawal was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his best performance.
