Delhi: Former India wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik said on Friday that the Indian Premier League (IPL) has raised the level of Indian cricket so much that now the country can field two to three national teams with the same capacity at the same time.
During a conversation with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricket director Mo Bobat and former England cricketer Isha Guha, Karthik appreciated the important role of IPL in changing the mentality of Indian cricket and strengthening the infrastructure.
He said, “The IPL has developed the mentality of winning the Indian players. This league has also gained economic benefit, which has strengthened the infrastructure of cricket, when the structure is strong, the level of sports is also better. ”
Karthik further said, “Since the arrival of IPL, India has so much talent that it can feed two to three teams simultaneously in international cricket. I, when I played in my first IPL season, got a chance to practice with Glenn McGrag. Practice with him helped me develop confidence and mentality to play against the best players. ”
Significantly, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has given many best players to Indian cricket. Not only this, this league has also given many emerging and legendary players to world cricket.
