‘India Champions ready to cancel final match: No offense to country’

Delhi: Everyone was eyeing the semi -finals of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. However, taking a big decision on Wednesday, the India Champions team refused to play the semi -final match against Pakistan. The match was to be held at Edbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. After this decision of the players, the organizers had to cancel the match.

India refuses to play against Pakistan

According to sources, all the players took this decision together. The reason for this was said to be a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian team decided to withdraw from the match in protest against this attack. This is according to India’s policy of not having bilateral sports relations with Pakistan.

Although there has been no official statement from the team, but a player spoke to the Times of India, saying, “We are not playing semi -finals against Pakistan. The country is the first for us. We are a proud member of the Indian team. We have worked hard to achieve Indian jersey. Can’t do anything against the country.

He further explained, “If we reach the finals and Pakistan were still in front, we do not play. We are all Indians and have the same thinking,”

Pakistan reached the finals

The organizers of the WCL honored the Indian team’s decision and canceled the match. Because of this, the Pakistan team got a place directly in the finals.

Significantly, this is the second time India Champions refused to play WCL matches against Pakistan. Earlier on July 20, he refused to play in the league match.

Sports relations between India and Pakistan are already tense. Especially due to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and the subsequent military clashes, the situation has become more serious.

However, the male teams of the two countries will clash in the UAE in the Asia Cup on 14 September. On October 6, women’s teams will face face-to-face in Colombo in the ICC ODI World Cup.
