Delhi: Abhishek Sharma performed brilliantly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and played a brilliant innings of 170 runs, due to which he has made a strong claim for a place in the team for the Champions Trophy 2025. These days he is playing as the captain of Punjab team and in the match being played against Saurashtra, he hit 22 fours and 8 sixes in 96 balls. During this period his strike rate was 177.08.
Abhishek’s century and brilliant innings
Abhishek completed his century in 60 balls in his innings, which shows his excellent game. After this innings it seems that he can be included in Team India for the Champions Trophy. However, till now Abhishek Sharma has played only T20 International matches and his ODI debut is yet to happen.

Preparation for England series
The Champions Trophy will start from February 19, before which India has to play a white ball series against England, in which there will be 5 T20 Internationals and 3 ODI matches. This series will be India’s last ODI series before the Champions Trophy. If BCCI considers Abhishek Sharma for the Champions Trophy, he may get a chance to play in the ODI series against England. Now it remains to be seen what kind of team BCCI selects.
Punjab’s big score
In the match against Saurashtra, Punjab, batting first, scored a huge score of 424/5 runs in 50 overs. Abhishek Sharma’s innings of 170 runs had an important contribution in this score. Apart from this, Prabhsimran Singh also played an inning of 125 runs in 95 balls, which included 11 fours and 8 sixes. Abhishek and Prabhasimran made a partnership of 298 runs (in 187 balls) for the first wicket, which proved to be an excellent record.
