India-Pakistan to be in the same group in Asia Cup 2025: Expect many matches

Delhi: The picture is clear about the Asia Cup 2025 and once again the teams of India and Pakistan will be in the same group. According to a report, this tournament will be played in UAE from 10 to 28 September. The special thing is that the format has been kept in such a way that there is at least one match between India and Pakistan, and if both teams reach the Super Four and Final, then three matches are also possible.

This time the Asia Cup will be played in T20 format, which will also be a kind of dress rehearsal before next year’s T20 World Cup. A total of eight teams will participate in the tournament and the wait for India-Pakistan collision will be the highest as usual.

Asia Cup is happening in the atmosphere of stress

This decision has come at a time when political and cricket relations between India and Pakistan are very tense. Recently, teams of veteran players of India and Pakistan could not come face to face in the World Championship of Legends. Many former players of India refused to play against Pakistan.

All this happened when India retaliated on terrorist bases in Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025. After this, tension between the two countries also increased at the military level.

UAE will host tournament

All 19 matches of the tournament will be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It was agreed to in the recent meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dhaka. The BCCI has been given the responsibility of fixing the schedule of the tournament as a host tournament. It is expected that the schedule will be released this week.

India and Pakistan last clashed in the Champions Trophy this year, in which India defeated Pakistan by six wickets due to Virat Kohli’s century and also won the tournament. Now the fans are very excited about the possible clash between the two teams in the Asia Cup.
