Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team defeated South Africa by 23 runs in the fifth match of the Women’s ODI Tri -Series 2025 played at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. With this victory, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team has secured a place in the final with Sri Lanka. At the same time, the South Africa team is still waiting for the victory and the next match is to play against Sri Lanka which has become only a formality.

Batting first, India scored 337 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. Initially India shocked when opener Pratika Rawal and number three batter Harleen Deol were out early. Smriti Mandhana scored 51 runs in 63 balls and shared an 88 -run partnership with Jemima Rodrigues.

Jemima batted brilliantly and scored the best score of her career. He hit 123 runs in 101 balls which included 15 fours and a six. Deepti Sharma also played a great game and scored 93 runs in 84 balls. Together, both of them took India beyond 300.

India won this match by 23 runs and made it to the finals of the tri -series where it will face Sri Lanka.
