India, West Indies and New Zealand set record for most sixes in a Test series:

Delhi: In the five-match Tendulkar-Anderson Test series between India and England, Team India has created a new history on the batting field. Indian batsmen have so far hit 36 sixes in only five innings of this series, which are the most sixes hit by any team in a series in Test cricket.

India set this record when half the innings of the series have been completed and two Test matches are left. That is, India still has an opportunity to play five innings, which can make this record even more huge.

Earlier, West Indies and New Zealand had the record for the most sixes in a Test series. The West Indies hit 32 sixes in the five-match Test series against India in 1974-75, when they came on Indian tour.

At the same time, New Zealand also hit 32 sixes in the three-match Test series played in UAE against Pakistan in 2014-15. But, now India has left both these records behind and set a new example in Test history.

Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill have been instrumental in this historical record. Pant has hit 15 sixes in five innings, while Gill has sent the ball 12 times across the boundary line. That is, 27 sixes out of a total of 36 have come out of the bat of only these two batsmen.

This aggressive style of Team India is indicating that this record can be even bigger in the coming matches.
