Delhi: At present, Team India is playing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. After this, Indian players will be seen playing directly in IPL 2025. During the IPL 2025, Indian players may also have to fulfill many other responsibilities. Except for the first week of January, Team India has played only white ball cricket, but after the IPL, India has to visit England, where a five -match Test series will be played.
BCCI plan
During the IPL 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned to ensure that the players are also ready for Test cricket. According to Cricbuzz reports, during the IPL, the players can sometimes be asked to participate in the practice session of the red ball, so that preparations can be made for the Test series of England tour. Since the tour of England is quite important, the BCCI is working on a strategy for the players to stay connected with Test cricket during the IPL.
Bad record in England
The BCCI aims to break the series defeat against New Zealand and England in the last few years. The IPL 2025 will be held from 22 March to 25 May, and after about 25 days, the Indian team has to play Test series in England. The first Test match will be played in Headingley from 20 June. The BCCI is working on the plan of this entire program, so that the players remain balanced between IPL and Test cricket.
Discussion on the plan intensified
BCCI officials discussed the responsibilities and preparations of the players during the Champions Trophy in Dubai. After the India-Pakistan match, these activities were considered and some more meetings are likely to be held in the first week of March.
Special attention on test series
The BCCI is worried that Team India has lost in the last few England tours. In 2011, India lost 4–0 defeat, 3–1 defeat in 2014, and 4–1 in 2018. However, in 2021 and 2022, both series ended at 2–2. This is the reason that the BCCI is now considering the new scheme so that Team India can get success in the upcoming England tour.
