Delhi: After a crushing defeat on the tour of Australia, the Indian women’s cricket team won the first match of the 3-match T20 International series against the West Indies in tremendous fashion. In this match played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team defeated the West Indies Women’s team by 49 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Indian women’s team defeated West Indies by 49 runs
In this first T20 International match played between the Indian women’s cricket team and the West Indies women’s cricket team, India, batting first, scored a huge score of 195 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, West Indies team could only score 146 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

In this match played at DY Patil Stadium, West Indies captain Hayley Mathews won the toss and decided to bowl first. Uma Chhetri and Smriti Mandhana made a good start for India and made a partnership of 50 runs. After this, Jemimah Rodrigues played a explosive innings for India. Jemimah scored 73 runs in just 35 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes and Smriti scored 54 runs in 33 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. With the help of which the Indian women’s team scored 195 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs.
West Indies team could score 146 runs
West Indies women’s team got a target of 196 runs to win and they came out to play. West Indies captain Hayley Mathews departed after scoring 1 run. Queena Joseph played an inning of 49 runs in just 33 balls. After this, West Indies’ wickets kept falling, but Deandra Dottin stood there and started batting stormily. He scored 52 runs in 28 balls but Dottin was dismissed by Titas Sadhu. In the end, the West Indies team could score 146 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs and India won the match by 49 runs. Titas Sadhu bowled brilliantly for India and took 3 wickets.
