Delhi: The Indian women’s team gave a tremendous performance in the third T20 match against the West Indies women’s team at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, 19 December. Batting first, the Indian team scored a huge score of 217/4 in 20 overs. Along with winning this match, India also made 5 new records, in which Smriti Mandhana achieved many records.

Smriti Mandhana, who is captaining India in this series, made many records during her innings. By scoring 77 runs in 47 balls, he registered his 30th 50+ score. With this, she left behind New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (29 50+ scores) and took the record of scoring the highest 50+ score in Women’s T20 International.

Smriti also broke the record of scoring most runs in Women’s T20 International in a calendar year. This year he scored 763 runs in 23 matches at an average of 42.38. Earlier this record was in the name of Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu, who had scored 720 runs in 21 matches this year.

Apart from this, Smriti also made the record of scoring the most 50+ scores in a calendar year by scoring 8 half-centuries this year.

Smriti Mandhana has scored 193 runs in 3 matches so far in this series. This is the most runs by an Indian woman player in a bilateral T20 series. Earlier, Mithali Raj had scored 192 runs against South Africa in 2018.

Wicketkeeper batsman Richa Ghosh played a explosive inning of 54 runs in 21 balls in this match. She completed her half-century in just 18 balls, which is the joint fastest half-century in Women’s T20 International.

Richa equaled New Zealand’s Sophie Devine and Phoebe Litchfield in this record. Additionally, Richa also made the record of fastest half-century for India in Women’s T20 International.

Indian women’s team made its highest score so far in T20 International by scoring 217/4. Earlier this year, he had scored 201/5 against UAE in Asia Cup.

This is the biggest score of any team against West Indies. Earlier, Australia had scored 212/6 against West Indies in 2023.

India won this match and won the series 2-1.
